Thinking Activity- Pride and Prejudice- Jane Austen.

 Hi Friends,
Here I am sharing my views on eight questions which are base on Jane Austen novel pride and prejudice.

1). Which version of the novel Is more appealing? Novel or film adaptation? Why?

Although the novel and the feature length film are starkly different artistic mediums. Film base on novel before you invest several hours into  scouring the original texts on which your favorite movie are based, were giving you a bit of a warning something you're better off skipping with what's on screen. Most reason to the visual images are long time to save your memory and recalled that mind capture the visually images on film easily understand the topic in film screening rather than novel. While reading spurs your imagination, a movie helps tpu visualize all the elements of the books that were previously confined to your imagination. It immerses you into the story in a different way than a book. And added benefit of movie is the music and visual designs that enhance the experience of watching a film.

2). Character of Elizabethan?

" Think only of the past as its remembrance fives you pleasure."
             - Elizabeth Bennett
Elizabeth was the second daughter in the Bennett family. The most intelligent and quick- witted, Elizabeth is the protagonist of the novel. Her admirable qualities are numerous. She is lovely, clever, and in a novel defined by dialogue. she converses as brilliantly anyone.
Elizabeth was very pride and reject the Darcy, proposal of marriage. Her charms are sufficient to keep him interested, fortunately, while she navigates familial and social turmoil. As she gradually comes to recognise the nobility of Darcy's character, she realises the error of her initial prejudice against him. Her Sharpe tongue and tendency to make hasty judgements often lead her astray: pride and prejudice is essentially the story of how she overcome all obstacles, including their own personal failing to find romantic happiness.

3). Character of Darcy?

"Nothing is more deceitful..than the appearance of humility. It is often only carelessness of opinion, and sometimes an indirect boast."
               - Mr. Darcy.

The son of a wealthy, well established family and the monster of the great estate of Pemberley,
Darcy is Elizabeth's male counterpart, Darcy too has a tendency to judge too hastly and harshly, and his high birth and wealth make him overly proud and overly conscious of his social status. Darcy meet the Bennett family and he observer manner of the Bennett family. He observed the Elizabeth and his after he say's she was a good lady.
Daray proposes to Elizabeth will you Marry me? For instance, he dwells more on how unsuitable a match she is than on her charms, beauty, or anything else complimentary.
Elizabeth's rejection of his advance builds a kind of huminity in Darcy. Darcy demonstrates his continued devotion to Elizabeth, in spite of his distaste for her law connections, when he rescued Lydia and the entire Bennett family from disgrace, and when he goes against the wishes of his haughty aunt, lady Catherine de Bourgh, by continuing to pursue Elizabeth. Darcy proves himself worthy of Elizabeth, and she ends up repenting her earlier, overly harsh judgement of him.

4). Give illustration of the society of the time.( Jane Austen's presentation).

General Behaviour:-
• A man always walks or rides on the outside of the women on the street.
• Be cheerful and smile, but do not laugh loudly.
• Among men, hand shakes are exchanged only between those of equal class.

Dancing/Balls:-
• A lady never dances more than two dances with same partner two would last approximately half an hour.
• Dancing is one of the few places respectable women can talk to a man privately.

Stutus of women in the Aristocracy:-
•As Darcy and Elizabeth discuss, women are expected to be "accomplished", which includes activities such as reading, riding, singing, playing piano, sewing, dancing and playing music. Society does not allow ladies of a higher class to have a profession.
• women have no power of earning money, therefore it is their duty to marry as well as possible. Hence mrs. Bennett obsession is best example in this novel.
• if a women does not marry, she is forced to Marry on the charity of her male relatives.
• whatever married woman inherits becomes the property of her husband. Which is why Wickham actively seeks a wealthy and native heiress.

5). If you were director or screenplay writer, what sort of difference would you make in the making of movie?

If you given to chance become a director or screenplay writer, I have one change making of the movie. Just Darcy sent to Letter Elizabeth with explanation and how to given his reason to taken some steps. But Mr. Darcy meet a physically to Elizabeth that time movie and novel scene is very attract to audience and reader because how to convince to Elizabeth and how to try to explain with clearly. Thise time expression of the Darcy face. Whole scene protracted a real feeling of Darcy. That it.

6). Who would be your choice of actors to play the role of character?

I am presented the role of Elizabeth because she was intelligent with argument is logically.  She makes a quick and hastly opinion of mr. Darcy through his behaviour in the frist ball without understanding his situation nor his personality nor his character. That opinion and her personal prejudice fences her from accepting his proposal towards the better half of the novel. she first prejudice the meet Darcy and end of the novel Darcy give his explaination that time she realises the error of her initial prejudice against him and she accepted her  mistake.

7). Write a note on a scene you liked the most.

Chapter 19 Jane and Elizabeth are marrid to their respective husband, much to mas.Bennet's pleasure after Lydia writes to congratulate her sister, and in her letter implies that Wickham would like a promotion in his military appointment and that they could use some money. Elizabeth responds that she cannot ask Darcy for any help with Wickham, nor any money, but she does end up sending them some money on a regular basis, from the money she saves from her own private expenses.
Thus, the two most agreeable sister Elizabeth and Jane, are settled happily and there is every indication of their future happiness. Lydia and Charlotte are not particularly unhappy, but it is clear that their choices in marriage were not ideal, and they do not enjoy the same degree of pleasure and joy in their marital attachment as the primary couples.
The novel started with the war of marriage idea and after end of the novel victory of the love and happily spending with the marriage life.

8). Compare the narrative strategy of novel and movie?

Pride and prejudice is a 2005 romantic drama film directed by Joe Wright, in this feature directorial debut, and based on Jane Austen 1813 novel of the Same name. They deal with issues of marriage, morality, and misconceptions.
Film adaptation of novel earn up to 53% more at the box office than original screenplays for whatever reason, moviegoers worldwide are more obsessed with books that get turned into movies more than with original cinematic creation. The movie has other differences than just the dialogue, in the movie Elizabeth keeps secrets from her family and grows apart from her older sister Jane. This is different from the book, while Elizabeth does become frustrated with events related to her family, she never keeps secrets from them.
Some differences I noticed when watching the movie were differences in physical appearances of the characters. An example of this would be mr.Collins. in the book, jane Austen described mr.collins as tall, in the movie however, mr.Collins was around the same height as the other male characters. I also noticed some differences with the portrayal of Elizabeth's character in the movie compared to jane Austen version of her in the book. when I watched the movie, l noticed that Elizabeth's character was more temperament, and unladylike. However, in the book Elizabeth is portrayed as more optimistic, lively and light hearted. In the movie the setting for Darcy and lizzy's proposal was different because in the movie Darcy and lizzy were standing outside in the rain.

Thank you!!
